The fundraiser "Giving Thanks to The Golden & District Hospital 2018" closed yesterday and raised $13,150 in total; $10,450 on the internet and $2,700 in cheques.

At $10,650 with just one day to go.

Today is the last day for the Giving Thanks to the Golden & District Hospital 2018 Fundraising Campaign. At the time of writing, donations totaled $10,650; $8450 on the Canada Helps website and $2,200 in cheques.
 If you would like to thank the doctors and staff at the Golden & Hospital and Durand Manor, now would be a great time to do it. Tomorrow you can enjoy the Thanks giving holiday knowing you have made your charitable donation for the year.

What are you Thankful for?

As the Thanksgiving weekend draws closer, you should take time to reflect on the things that you are most thankful for. That list almost always starts with family, friends, and loved ones. High on my list, I am thankful to have relatively good health.

I am extremely thankful that Golden is fortunate enough to have the Golden & District Hospital and Durand Manor complete with compassionate and caring doctors and staff. What better way to thank those folk than to join the Friends of the Golden and District hospital and donate a gift to buy equipment that helps them help us.

The size of the gift, $50 or $500, is less important than the message it sends; "Thank you".

With just 3 days remaining, the donations to the 2018 Fundraiser, Giving Thanks to the Golden & District Hospital, total $9300; $7,300 through the Canada Helps website and $2,000 in cheques. We have a long way to go to meet our goal and buy the defibrillator!

Columbia Valley Credit Union supports the Friends GDH

.. by contributing $2000 to the Friends of the Golden & District Hospital 2018 fundraiser. The Columbia Valley Credit Union made their contribution by cheque so the donation does not show on the internet crowd-funding campaign.

For people who wish to support the hospital and contribute to the campaign, but do not want to donate over the internet, the Friends of the Golden & District can accept cheques made out to the East Kootenay Foundation for Health, Friends of the GDH. Cheques can either be dropped off at the Hospital or call me and I can arrange to have them picked up.

Friends of the Golden & District Hospital gifted the funds to purchase the Emergency Room waiting chair which provides a more comfortable and clean environment for people waiting to be seen in the emergency department. The nurses look comfortable enough and appreciate the community support.
