The Friends of the Golden & District Hospital raised over $50,000 from an online fundraising event in 2015 which enabled the hospital and Durand Manor to purchase much needed small equipment over and above the hospital’s annual budget.
The hospital still has a sizeable list of small equipment for which funding is not easily nor readily available. These items truly do make a big difference and have a huge impact on the equipment needs of a small rural hospital.
Consequently, The Friends of the Golden & District Hospital have decided to repeat the online fundraising event in 2016. This event has been endorsed by the East Kootenay Foundation for Health which lends its full support to the Friends of the Golden & District Hospital.
There are many families that want to express thanks to the hospital for one reason or another and this fundraiser will allow them all to give thanks in a tangible way and to show community support for the staff.
The crowd funding page “Giving Thanks to the Golden & District Hospital 2016” will again be hosted on the CanadaHelps.org platform and will be open for donations from October 4th to 8th 2016.
